
The Timeline
1921:
George M Worboys purchased a Plumbing business & named it G.M Worboys located at 36 Little Collins Street
1926:
George M Worboys became a member of the Master Plumbers
1945:
George M Worboys passed away, leaving the business to Harry Pearson & George Tresidder.
1950:
G.M.Worboys PTY LTD was born with Harry and George being directors
1965:
Started works on the famous Royal & Block Arcade which they serviced for over 20 years.
1970’s:
Peter Jensen started as an apprentice and stayed with the company for over 40 years.
1976:
Geoff Tresidder, grandson of George Tresidder started at Worboys
1986:
7 members of the Worboys team who had been there for 10 years or more, purchased unit trusts in the Worboys company. These people included Geoff Tresidder & Peter Jensen.
1992:
Moved to Stanley street where they stayed for 25 years.
1996:
Worboys did lots of work for 120 Spencer Street which was owned by Spiros Stamoulis, a world-famous wrestler. After meeting Geoff a couple of times and seeing the work he produced, Spiros would always say; “Call Geoff, he’ll know how to fix it.” 120 Spencer street is still a client of Worboys in 2018.
2000’s:
Established contracts with Tennis Centre through a friend Bob Barber.
2009:
Bob was so impressed with Worboys work, that when he moved from the Tennis Centre to ACMI, he offered Worboys a contract, which they still have today.
2018:
In February 2018, Worboys merged with Gallant Plumbing.
With the merger has come a new, modern age, sophisticated approach where we are joining the path of Gallant Plumbing in redefining and shaking up the trades industry, by providing an exceptional customer service experience and making customers lives easier.
